A Clareman has received serious injuries to his hands, after he was attacked by his own dog

The man, who lives on the outskirts of Ennis, said he feared for his life as he was attacked by the sheepdog that he had owned for five years.
Meanwhile, Clare's Animal Warden has also said that he was called to a home in the Sixmilebridge-Newmarket on Fergus area as two elderly women were trapped in their home because they feared an attack from their dog – the women escaped uninjured.
Frankie Coote has speculated that recent thunder storms could have affected the animals.
