Fans are being advised to arrive in Thurles early on Sunday to avoid delays on account of frisk and bag searches, as well as the usual traffic delays.

A mass exodus is expected from Clare as both the senior and minor hurlers travel to Semple Stadium for the Munster final double header with Cork.

Superintendent Pat Murphy of Thurles Garda Station says the security measures are necessary to ensure everyone’s safety.

Gardaí will also be implementing a traffic plan in the town to prevent against traditional traffic gridlock.

Superintendent Murphy is advising people to plan ahead.

It’ll be a busy day on Clare roads on Saturday also, as part of the banner’s bumper weekend of GAA action.

The senior footballers are taking on Mayo at Cusack Park in Ennis on Saturday in their All-Ireland Qualifier.
