Concerns have been raised that security checks at Shannon and Cork Airports may be affected by the same deficiencies uncovered at Dublin.

A major EU security audit on the capital’s airport uncovered serious issues with checks on goods brought on board aircraft by crew and suppliers of airlines.
While the DAA said the issue didn’t effect Shannon and Dublin a spokesperson declined to comment on whether similar problems would have been found if the two airports had been subject to the same audit as Dublin.
Fianna Fail’s Transport Spokesperson and Clare TD Timmy Dooley is demanding full clarification on the issue
