There's further pressure on the Garda Commissioner to withdraw comments he made about the actions of Garda whistleblowers.

Transport Minister Leo Varadkar was first to suggest yesterday that Martin Callinan take back the phrase 'disgusting' which he used at a Public Accounts Committee hearing on penalty points.
Now Social Protection Minister Joan Burton says she believes it would be 'helpful' if he did so.
A spokesman for the Commissioner yesterday indicated that he won't be withdrawing the comment.
