Searches have resumed for a man reported missing from his Ennis home.
The search operation was mounted after a man in his mid-60’s was reported missing in the Ballybeg area yesterday.
A search was mounted yesterday evening, following reports of a man missing in the Ballybeg area, but crews were forced to abandon the search and return to base.
Gardaí, the Shannon-based Irish Coast Guard helicopter, Rescue 115 and volunteers from Kilkee Coast Guard were involved in the operation.
The operation resumed this morning, with Clare Civil Defence personnel carrying out ground searches in the vicinity of Cahercalla today.
Volunteers are also using drones with thermal imaging capability in an effort to locate the missing man, while members of the public, including neighbours of the man, are also taking part in the search operation.
It’s understood that man was last seen on Saturday evening when CCTV footage shows him leaving his home at Riverside off the Clon Road in Ennis.
Weather conditions are still poor with reduced visibility reported over a wide area.
