A search has resumed off Valentia Island in County Kerry for a fisherman missing since last night.

The 32 year old, who was part of an angling group on the shore entered the water off some rocks at ten to eleven.
The alarm was raised immediately and the Shannon Rescue Helicopter, Valentia lifeboat and the local Knightstown Coastguard Unit all searched the water around the northern side of the island until the early hours.
Searching was then suspended for the night, but is getting underway again this morning.
