Searches have resumed this morning in West Clare for a Japanese couple who are feared to be missing.
A car, which had been rented by the pair, had been parked in Kilkee for a number of days, sparking a search effort which began last evning.
A land and sea search began after 5 o'clock last evening.
A car which had been hired by the couple had been parked at Byrnes Cove in Kilkee since Saturday, sparking fears that they have already been missing for a number of days.
Both are understood to be aged in their 60s.
Coast Guard teams from Kilkee and Doolin carried out searches from land and out at sea until darkness last night, whie the Shannon-based coast guard also assisted.
Search crews from Ballybunion are also taking part in the search this morning, with the operation underway since first light.
