The man in his 40’s was swept into the sea while fishing with a friend near the lighthouse at Blackhead on Sunday.

It’s been reported that the man who had been living in Tuam in County Galway was from Latvia, but it’s now believed he was a Lithuanian native.

The Doolin Coastguard, Shannon Coastguard Helicopter and Ennistymon Gardai searched a 10 kilometre stretch of the coastline between Ballyvaughan and Fanore yesterday but found no trace of the missing man.
