A Clare government Senator is calling for immediate action from the Health Minister to deal with overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick.

Speaking in the Seanad, Fine Gael's Martin Conway has described the damning HIQA report as "shocking."
He joined with Clare County Council in asking for Minister Reilly to consider re-opening A&E services at Ennis General.
The Ennistymon Senator also said healthcare in the MidWest is in crisis.
