47 candidates including Corofin Principal Declan Kellegher will be hoping to secure a Seanad seat today as counting on the University Panel begins.
Already the five seats on the Cultural and Educational panel have been filled as have three of the 11 seater agricultural panel.

So far Three Fine Gael, two Labour Party, and two Fianna Fáil candidates have been elected.
Counting to fill the six seats on the University Panel will begin at 10 while counting will also resume to fill the remaining seats on the vocational panels with 3 Clare Fine Gael hopefuls among the candidates , Tony Mulcahy, Martin Conway and John Crowe.
