2016 is set to be the hottest year on record.

The World Meteorological Association says average temperatures have been approximately 0.88 degrees above the average between 1961 and 1990.
It means 16 of the 17 hottest years on record will have occurred since the turn of the millennium.
However, there are some signs for optimism as the amount of carbon emitted has levelled off for the third straight year.
