It’s claimed Scariff residents are becomign increasingly “frustrated” with the ongoing lack of parking provision in the town.
Clare County Council is currently in the process of the acquiring a suitable site for the construction and development of a 42-space carpark in the town but has given no indication of when the acquisition will be completed.
However, a representitive for the Killaloe Municipal District has said that the acquisition of a site for a car park is a “key priority” and that the additional parking would “improve the public realm and provide community, tourism and enterprise facilities in the town centre”.
Bodyke native Councillor Joe Cooney of Fianna Fáil says that a car park in the town is “very badly needed”.
