It’s hoped the Scariff to Limerick Greenway could be completed within three years.
It’s after contracts for the design phase of the project have been signed this week, with a route and consultation with landowners still to be ironed out.

When finished, the facility will stretch from Scariff to Killaloe, along the River Shannon and into the University of Limerick and its city centre.
Clare Green Party Senator Roisin Garvey is hopeful that the Greenway will be up and running by mid-2024.
