An East Clare Community will be honouring it’s ties to the North this week as it gears up for the annual Scariff Harbour Festival.
Over 20 years ago the first ever festival was opened by the leaders of the SDLP and Progressive Unionist Parties and on Thursday, the latest opening will be performed by the first black Mayor of Derry, Cllr Lillian Seenoi-Barr.
The festival which continues throughout the weekend will include artisan food exhibitions, kids entertainment, arts and craft fairs, biodiversity displays and music from the Kilfenora Ceilí band, PJ Murrihy and the Celtic Tenors.
Organiser Harry O’Meara is confident the event will be a major success.
