Scariff festival set to boost local tourism hopes

It’s hoped that this weekend’s Scarifff Harbour Festival, which comes to an end today, will help promote the wider East Clare area as a tourist destination.

The three-day festival has seen a host of musical acts entertain large crowds, and that will continue today with a host of events both on and off the water.

The town is being positioned as the ‘southern gateway’ to Ireland’s inland waterways, and links have been formed with communities in Northern Ireland to this regard.
