A West Clare teenager who’s father was beaten to death by his then wife and father-in-law in their North Carolina home in 2015 says she wants to spend the rest of her life standing up for survivors of abuse.
Sarah Corbett Lynch has published a memoir entitled ‘A Time for Truth’ which details the moment’s leading up to her father Jason Corbett’s death, as well as the alleged coercive control she and her brother Jack faced at the hands of Molly Martens.
Molly Martens and her father Tom Martens had their murder convictions overturned in 2023, after using recordings from the children, gathered nine years prior as evidence – the pair walked free from prison last year after serving time for manslaughter.
Sarah who’s now living with her father’s sister in Kilkee says during such a traumatic period, they never realised the strong support for them in Ireland.
