Sales of new cars fall in Clare for August

Sales of new cars here fell significantly last month, as the Clare motor trade experienced the biggest fall-off in business of any county in Munster

In all, 55 new vehicles were licenced here last month, down from 128 for August of 2010.

This amounts to a fall of 57%, which  is significantly more than the national average of just over 35%.
