Ryanair Call Press Conference At Shannon Airport

Hopes have been raised of a new routes announcement at Shannon Airport, on the same day that an airline has quit their services there.

Stobart Air is pulling it's flights between Shannon and Britain from January 5th, while it's base there is also closing in a move which affects 26 workers.

Shannon is already in talks with other carriers to find a replacement.

In a separate development, Ryanair has called a press briefing for Shannon on Monday, and say that chief executive Michael O'Leary will be in attendance.

This has led to expectations that Ryanair could be poised to announce an increased commitment to Shannon.
