A Clare national champion cyclist is appealing to people to always wear a helmet after she survived a near-death crash in Spain.
Ruan native Imogen Cotter underwent multiple operations after she was struck by van which was overtaking a cyclist riding in the opposite direction.

Despite undergoing surgery following a broken radius and knee, Imogen is determind to return to her racing career from mid-March.
However, she says she wouldn’t be able to do so if it weren’t for the fact her helmet saved her from brain injury or death.
