The CEO of the Road Safety Authority says the body is ‘committed’ to sourcing an alternative site to place an NCT centre in Shannon.
The project had been earmarked for the Smithstown Industrial Estate, but was halted earlier this year ‘due to significant contractual difficulties’.

It’s understood two alternative locations have since been identified in Shannon, though the RSA has remained tight lipped on the matter in front of the Oireachtas Transport Committee.
Addressing questioning from Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey, RSA CEO Sam Waide says the process has been frustrating.
