Roche has confirmed that the phasing out of production at its Clarecastle plant has begun.

In a statement to Clare FM, the company says consultations with union and staff representatives regarding staff reductions started last week.
They describe the decsion as not being easy and not a reflection of the performance of the employees or the site.
Earlier, Clare's Junior Minister Pat Breen insisted that every effort is being made to secure employment for Roche workers.
