People taking to the water this weekend are being warned that both safety and social distancing must remain a top priority.

The call from the Kilrush RNLI comes following a rescue operation earlier this week, after a young girl on an inflatable lilo was swept out to sea.

People are advised to call 999 or 112 if they think somebody is in danger.

Kilrush RNLI Spokesperson Charlie Glynn, says people should ensure they stay safe, and remember they must stay within 5km of their homes.
