A man in his 60s is said to be recovering after falling into the River Fergus in Ennis.

It's understood the man was sitting on the river wall at Abbey Street when he fell 15 feet into the water in at around 7:30 last evening.
Members of the public came to his assistance, with one throwing him a life buoy, but fire crews had to be called to retrieve him from the water.
The river was only a few foot deep at the time, and the man is not believed to have been seriously hurt.
