The role of the community in fending off crime is to be discussed by local representatives and Clare Gardaí today, amid an apparent increase in burglaries in Clare.

The topic is just one of those on the agenda for the Clare Joint Policing Authority’s Quarterly meeting in Ennis this afternoon.
Gardaí will also brief Councillors on crime matters locally, and will be asked about their role in the review of speed limits throughout the county after some of those changes were criticised in recent weeks.
