Parking ticket machines in Clare are expected to be updated to accept card payments as well as cash by 2022.
It follows calls from Councillors at this week’s monthly meeting, who feel having an option to pay digitally would to lead to people staying in towns and villages longer and availing of more local businesses.
An extensive review of car parking in the county is to be undertaken in 2022 by Clare County Council which will analyse all available digital parking options and may include online apps.
