A retired bus driver in Ennis believes contracts for school bus services could be in jeopardy in the next few months due to rising fuel costs.
It’s understood some operators are considering reducing the length of some school runs with other considering cutting full routes from September.

The Department of Education and Bus Eireann are both believed to be monitoring the situation.
Mickey Guilfoyle, who drove for St. Anne’s Special School in Ennis and a number of mainstream schools across the county, feels some private operators may be left with no choice but to axe services.
