Residential Tenancies Board Receiving One Thousand Complaints Per Day

Around a thousand people a day make an official complaint about their rent being too high.

The Residential Tenancies Board says they’ve been inundated with calls since the introduction of rent pressure zones last Christmas.

The new rules are supposed to limit landlords to a 4 per cent annual increase in expensive areas, but many are ignoring the laws.
