A representative of Clare Paramedics says he doesn't accept that absenteeism is to blame for staff shortages in the service.

The National Ambulance Service has acknowled the need for more workers in Clare after local personnel raised concerns over ambulances being parked up on dozens of occasions last month.
In a statement to Clare FM, the NAS says 'short-notice absenteeism' presents managers with challenging issues, particularly when it's unforeseen or when there is little or no notice.
SIPTU's Ted Kenny says absenteeism alone doesn't account for the shortage.
