It’s reported today that the government’s sending a copy of the EU fiscal treaty to every home in the country.
According to the Irish Independent, the leaflet drop from the coalition will include a note explaining the text.
The government’s information campaign will be separate to anything produced by the independent Referendum Commission.
Meanwhile
The newly established Oireachtas Sub-Committee on the EU Fiscal Treaty will continue its week-long discussions on the Fiscal Treaty today, with leading voices from civil society and interest groups.
It’s hoped that today’s sessions will provide an opportunity for the Sub-Committee to gauge the reaction of key Business, farming, community and interest groups to the Treaty.
John Bryan of the Irish Farmers Association, Brendan Butler of Irish Business and Employers Confederation and Mark Fielding of the Irish Small and Medium Enterprises Association are among those addressing the Sub-Committee today.
