Between January and June of 2021, a three bed semi-d in Clare cost just over €181,000.

That rose by 13.5 percent in the final six months of the year, a percentage increase not seen in any other county in Ireland and more than double the national average in the same timeframe.

It’s equivalant to over €2,000 per average square metre of a property.

During the same period, a four bed semi detached house in this county increased by 7.5 percent to €260,000, again above the national average.

A two-bedroomed apartment here will now set you back over €120,000 which is a jump of 6.5 percent.

The IPAV report says overall property prices here increased by just over 9 percent in the second half of 2021, which is a rate that’s only greater in Donegal, Westmeath and Wexford.

The report suggests it expects the increased figures in coastal areas like Clare to continue into 2022.
