Report Shows Improved Irish Competitiveness

Economic growth, improved public finances and trade performance have all contributed to Ireland’s improved competitiveness.

A report from the National Competitiveness Council shows strong performance in these areas over the past 6 years, has been key to the recovery in employment.

Exporting sectors continue to improve and many of Ireland’s traditional strengths such as our taxation regime and young labour force remain strong.

However the report warns the economy faces significant threats, including Brexit and a potential shift in trade and taxation policy in the US.
