Research on the future plans relating to farming and land ownership for farmers who don’t have an identified successor, is being presented this afternoon.

Macra na Feirme, the IFA, and the Dept of Agriculture commissioned the study. Land ownership and transfer remains a sensitive issue for many farm families.
However CSO figures show the numbers of farmers under 35 is just 6.2 percent, despite the fact that agricultural colleges are at full capacity.
