Report claims Irish hospital overcrowding worst in Europe

There are 35 people on trolleys in University Hospital Limerick today

17 of those are waiting in the emergency department while the total number waiting on admission around the country stands at 517.

It comes as a new European study has found that Ireland has the worst waiting times for admission from emergency departments.

Its author, Professor Arne Bjornberg from the Health Consumer Powerhouse, says they no longer rely on patient data supplied by the HSE.
