Report Claims Ireland Could Suffer More From Brexit Than Britain

Ireland would suffer more from a hard Brexit than Britain according to a new study. 

The joint report compiled by the ESRI and the Department of Finance has found – if trade tariffs are imposed on it will increase unemployment by 2 per cent.

According to the Times of Ireland the charges would also shave 3.8 per cent off our GDP. 

Researchers say while the UK would suffer from a hard Brexit – the impact would be much greater on the Irish economy. 

Meanwhile, Ireland is over 18 per cent more expensive for the British tourist since the Brexit referendum, according to Tourism Ireland.

More than 70 tourist businesses are in London today for the World Travel Market, seeking to drum up trade for the coming year.
