The fossilised remains of a 320 million year-old shark have been found on the Burren Coastline.
The discovery by local geologist Dr Eamon Doyle is the first ever identification of the Listracanthus hystrix in Ireland.

It’s believed the species died out 250 million years ago and the discovery will be discussed at the third annual Geopark Academy on May 24th.
Dr Doyle says they hope to find more.
