The Health Minister has warned he’ll suspend abortion services if it’s shown to him that new laws that legalise terminations here in limited circumstances are abused.

James Reilly says this legislation brings legal clarity, upholds the equal right to life of the unborn, is measured and re-states the general prohibition on abortion here.
The Dáil has started debating the laws – this will continue next week, and a first vote is likely next Thursday.
Minister Reilly says if evidence emerges of terminations being carried out – that are not to save the life of a woman – he will suspend the services involved:
