The Children's Minister has pledged that there will be no cuts to what he's called a "highly regarded" educational program in Clare.
Minister James Reilly has been quizzed about the School Completion Programme by Shannon Senator Tony Mulcahy, who sought a commitment that it would not be the subject of cuts, as had been feared by some involved in it.
Currently there are two school completion programmes in Clare, based in Ennis and Kilrush, involving a total of five primary and three post-primary schools and receiving a total of €375,000 in state support.
The ESRI is finalising a review of the overall program, but Minister Reilly insists that won't see funding taken away.
