University Hospital Limerick now has the highest number of Covid patients in the country.
The latest HSE figures show there were 84 patients being treated for the virus at the region’s main hospital this morning, up from 76 a day earlier.
The number receiving intensive care in the ICU or High Dependency Unit has risen by 2, to 11, in the space of 24 hours.

It comes as the Dooradoyle facility is dealing with an outbreak of the virus which is affecting three wards, with visiting restrictions imposed on all wards.
Nationally, the number of Covid patients is at a two week low, with a 14% reduction over the past nine days.
