A reduction in planning levies is being proposed as means of reversing population decline in parts of Clare.

Lissycasey Councillor PJ Kelly says reducing or scrapping the levies for residential and commercial developments would be an incentive for people to build homes and start businesses here.
The Council say Clare’s levies are already significantly less than those of other Authorities, however they will be examined as part of the new Clare County Development Contribution Scheme.
Councillor Kelly is hopeful this review will have a positive outcome.
