New figures show a reduction in the suicide rate in Clare.

Three reports on suicide and self harm have been published today and show the rate of suicidal behaviour in Ireland has stabilised, and that figures for Clare from 2008-2010 are at their lowest level in seven years.
However, Ireland still has the fourth highest youth suicide rate in the EU – especially among young men, while alcohol abuse is the main cause of suicide in men over 40.
