A red forest fire warning has been issued for Clare.
The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine has put the advisory into effect for the entire country in advance of the hot weather forecast for the weekend.

The public is advised not to cause of or light fires in and around forests or open land and not to intervene or fight fires.
The Department is also urging people to dispose of smoking materials responsibly and in the event of a fire, to gather all group members before moving to a safe fuel-free location upwind of the blaze.
Fire and Rescue services can be contacted via 112 and all fires should be reported.
