Bathing Restrictions Lifted At Lahinch

A ban on swimming and other water-based activities at Lahinch beach has been lifted this afternoon.

The red flag bathing prohibition was implemented yesterday afternoon following the detection of elevated levels of bacteria in the area due to heavy rain.

The well-known tourist location’s blue flag was replaced with a red warning flag after consultation with the Health Service Executive.

However, Clare County Council has announced that on the advice of the HSE, the prohibition has been lifted.
