A recruitment process for new staff and the expansion of the Medical Assessment Unit in Ennis General Hospital is now underway.
It’s understood posts in nursing, allied health and general support and now at different stages of recruitment, wth a further 28 slots to become available in the unit once this process is completed.
The Medical Assessment Unit provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients referred with medical conditions such as chest infections, COPD and pneumonia.

The service in Ennis will have almost doubled in its capacity since last year due to the expansion, and the unit saw a 4 percent increase in referrals in 2019.
