Recruitment Difficulties For Community Mental Health Services In Clare

A senior Clinician within the HSE MidWest has outlined how funding constraints in mental health services is making it difficult to recruit staff.

An Oireachtas Committee, which has examined the future of mental healthcare in Ireland, has been told that the mental health service in the Mid-West has a dedicated budget of nearly 67 million euro, up by 8 million in the past three years.

However, Ireland still lags behind other European nations who spend bigger portions of their budget on mental health services.
