A Clare Government TD says difficulties in recruiting staff is the main contributory factor behind Clare's ambulance crisis.
It follows a meeting at the National Ambulance Service's Control Centre in Tallagh yesterday, in response to concerns over the county's rapid response vehicle being stood down on a number of occasions in recent months.
66 paramedics are currently in training and a further 30 are to be recruited at the beginning of 2016.
Clare Fine Gael TD Pat Breen was among a number of local representatives who visited the control centre in Tallagh yesterday – he's confident that Clare's ambulance service will feel the benefits of new strategies within the coming months.
