Record High Number Of Clare Home Commencements This January

There was a record number of home commencements across Clare this January.

The Department of Housing’s monthly data for January shows there were over 90 residential construction starts in this county.

The latest figures from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage show that home building is off to a strong start this year.

In January there were 93 residential units commenced in Clare, a large increase on the 13 units in same month in 2023.

Of those commencements last month, 18 of them were for one-off builds.

In addition, there were 21 commencement notices submitted in the county last month, a major rise on the 13 recieved in the same period last year.

Nationally, there were Commencement Notices for 3,357 new homes received by Building Control Authorities in January which is a 59% increase on the same month in 2023 and the highest January figures since records began in 2015.

The Housing Press Office says the commencement figures indicate there is a robust stock of new housing is in the pipeline.
