Clare’s Senator claims it would be completely reckless for Ireland to hold a General Election this side of Britain’s EU exit.
Fine Gael’s Martin Conway has been added to his party’s ticket for the next polling day, which Taoiseach Leo Varadkar doesn’t want to hold until 2020.
Fianna Fáil, however, is refusing to enter talks until after next month’s Budget when the confidence and supply agreement propping up the government is due to expire.
Senator Conway will join sitting Clare Fine Gael TDs Joe Carey and Pat Breen in a battle for the two existing seats next time out.
