Reassurances From Senior Gardaí On Future Of Policing In Clare

Senior ranking Gardaí have once again failed to rule out an amalgamation of the Clare and Galway Garda Divisions down the line.

A special meeting of Clare County Council has heard that the report of the Commission of the Future of Policing recommends changes to Garda structures, which may mean changes to division boundaries – but nothing has yet been determined.

However, assurances have been given that it’s not in the immediate plans and that a new Chief Superintendent for this county will be appointed in the very near future.
