The niece of fashion designer Ralph Lauren who admitted charges arising from an incident which saw a Delta Airlines plane diverted to Shannon Airport has denied being drunk and abusive on board the aircraft.

41-year-old Jenny Lauren pleaded guilty to two charges before Ennis District Court last week, and apologised for threatening, insulting and pushing over a member of the cabin crew.
She was also fined 2,000 euro, but has now told a New York newspaper that she was the ‘real victim’, as she was not drunk and didn’t push anyone.
The costs of the diversion to Delta Airlines totalled over $43,000 and Ms Lauren may yet face civil proceeding.
