The EPA has recorded high levels of a cancer-causing gas in both Ennis and in North Clare.

Tests for radon which have been carried out at three homes in the county town, as well as another in Doolin, have found levels of radon that are higher than the acceptable amount.
In one case in Ennis, the level of radon recorded was three-times higher than those limits.
Over 4,300 radon tests have been carried out in Clare, and over 10% of these have returned results higher than guideline levels.
